Whole Body Exposure Chambers
TPHRL has three separate systems for tobacco smoke consisting of 8 whole body exposure chambers. Each system has a smoke generating machine and either 2 or 3 Hinners-type chambers connected to a carbon monoxide analyzer. In addition, a diffusion flame system is available to serve as a surrogate to diesel engine (combustion) exposure.
Nose-Only Exposure System
TPHRL has a nose-only exposure system for aerosolized delivery of gases, vapors, and particles to multiple ports. This system has been successfully used for the study of electronic-cigarettes and is adaptable for other types of nose-only exposures.
